COVID-19 RESPONSE

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”- Philippians 4:6-7
(The Message)

As our world grapples with how to handle the evolving coronavirus pandemic, we know that your heart is being bombarded with many different messages. Our prayer is that you feel supported and strengthened in this time by your church family. We are confident and full of faith that we will see God turn this into a miraculous story of grace and peace.

We want you to know that at Anthem Church your safety and health is very important to us, and our eldership team is monitoring the situation regularly and are following the advice given by relevant health authorities and SA Government.

WHAT WE’RE DOING AS A CHURCH

We are not going to be meeting physically at our 37 Mackeurtan property for the foreseeable future. We have planned for this and we are ready to deliver an awesome ONLINE SUNDAY SERVICE to you and your whole family. We will continue to gather ONLINE on Sundays at 9am, where the kids should tune in from 8:45am.

We are better together! In this time of isolation we encourage you to join one of our online groups so that we can help you stay connected from the comfort of your own home.

All the events that would usually take place in large gatherings, such as Prayer Connect and Family Night, will be postponed until further notice.
We’re following a reliable list of information for educational, planning and management purposes. You can click here to find out the latest info regarding the Corona virus.  South African Resource Portal: https://sacoronavirus.co.za

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

  • Pray for our community and those directly affected by COVID-19. Pray for the health care workers that are treating the sick and those public health administrators making difficult decisions. Pray that God would protect our community from further spread of the virus.
  • Reflect Christ. In these anxious days, the church (all of us) can shine as a light of hope, care, faith, patience and prudence. We can demonstrate for the world how our faith provides true assurance against worry and fear. We can show the love of Christ and offer assistance to those in need.
  • Stay Connected. Be a part of the online Sunday services and stay committed to giving.

TIPS TO HELP PREVENT SPREADING THE DISEASE

  • IF YOU OR A HOUSEHOLD MEMBER ARE SICK, STAY HOME AND REST.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer if washing with soap and water is not practical.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick or others if you or someone in your household is sick.
  • Practice other good health habits. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
